Tina the turtle took tea at two. She kept her teacups on a tall table.
"Tina!" called Tom the toad. "I want to taste your tasty tea!"
Tina tapped her teapot. "Take a seat, Tom. I'll set out the treats."
Tom tried to step onto the turtle's patio, but he tripped on a twig! He tumbled toward the table!
"Watch out!" Tina shouted.
But it was too late. Tom hit the table, and the teapot tottered. Ten teacups tipped over!
"Oh no!" Tina cried out. "My teacups!"
Tom felt terrible. "I'm truly sorry, Tina. I didn't mean to topple your tea party."
Just then, Toot the toucan flew down to the patio.
"What happened to the tea?" Toot asked.
Tina told the tale of Tom's tumble.
"Don't fret," said Toot. "I can teach you a neat trick!"
Toot took tiny twigs and bent them into a tent. He put it right over the wet tea spots.
"Now watch!" said Toot.
He tapped his beak on the tent three times. Then he turned in a tight circle.
Suddenly, the tent started to twist and turn! It spun faster and faster!
When it stopped, the tent was gone. In its place stood a perfect tower of teacups, filled with hot tea!
"That's terrific!" Tina clapped.
Tom was stunned. "How did you do that trick?"
Toot just winked. "A toucan must keep some secrets!"
So they all sat together, talking and telling tales while they sipped their magic tea until the stars twinkled in the night sky.
